What is Holistic Womb Therapy?

This work is a journey of preparation for your body, heart, womb and soul. It is a rediscovery of yourself as a powerful woman; a safe space for holding your deepest and truest self, your loved ones, and your baby. Using a combination of holistic abdominal and sacral massage, Reiki and energy healing, Rebozo sifting and wrapping, guided visualisation and sound, this work is suitable at any adult life stage - even in the absence of a physical womb. It is not just about getting pregnant - it's beautiful and important work for all women. It's a call back into your body, back 'home'; an invitation to make friends with your womb - the place where we energetically hold our hopes, creations, dreams and projects, as well as our children.
I approach this sacred work from several angles:
  • Through the body - Using Emotional Bodywork (TM) and Womb/Fertility Massage Therapy (TM);
  • Through subtle life force energy that is in each of us and connects each of us: by channeling Reiki and healing energy from the highest source of pure love and light;
  • Through the mind and emotions: by exploring your thoughts and feelings around your body, your own maternal story and experience of mothering, and your needs regarding motherhood, and;
  • Through the environment; by exploring ways you can better help your internal balance with healthy living practices that support your hormonal wellbeing and optimal menstrual cycles, and your external environment with lifestyle tweaks, both of which can have a knock-on benefit to the earth that supports us.
The Holistic Womb Therapy sessions are intuitively guided and combine the following:
  • The first session will include detailed consultation so I can learn all about you and work according to your needs, and subsequent sessions will include consultation on any changes you've been experiencing, anything that is happening for you in your life or memories that you'd like to talk about or anything you'd like to weave into our session. All sessions begin with chimes to clear your energy field.
  • Upper and lower abdominal massage working in the area between the rib-cage and the pubic bone. This work can be beneficial whether or not you are actively trying to conceive. Lower abdominal work directly over the top of the womb will depend on which stage of your cycle you are in (e.g. not during your bleed, and not after ovulation if you are actively trying to conceive). If you are trying to conceive, the best time to schedule womb work is in the window between the end of your bleed and your ovulation so we can work directly over the womb.
  • Mid and lower back and sacral massage working from bra-strap line to mid-buttocks. The womb and sacrum are connected by ligaments, so work here is directly linked to your womb - and we can carry so much tension here! We may also work to release the coccyx (tailbone); working through a cloth to protect your modesty at all times.
  • Additional massage on particular points of tension or pain, or hands/feet/head, as appropriate.
  • Energy work and Reiki, channeling healing energy into areas that need emotional release as much as physical, and fostering the important link between heart and womb. This may include guided visualisation and sound healing work.
  • Pulsing - a gentle and relaxing rocking of your body (with no effort from you) that mimics the feeling of being in-utero and can have a deeply relaxing and releasing effect on the physical and emotional body.
  • Rebozo - ceremonial wrapping and cocooning of parts of the body with the intention of creating a feeling of wholeness, of being truly 'in your body' and being safely held and supported. It is absolutely delicious!
  • After-care discussion where you can share your experience of the treatment, I will share anything of interest I discovered, and give you some tools and advice to continue with at home between sessions.
